Saturday 27 September 2014
This Saturday the CSCC will be hosting a raceday at Oulton Park, with several of their own series set to star.
First up we have the CSCC Swinging Sixties racers. This category is home to sportscars from the 1960s and grids usually feature strong entries comprising Aston Martins, Jaguar E-types and Ford Mustangs.
70s and 80s machines are represented in the CSCC Future Classics series, with other action from the Classic K, Special Saloons and Modsports, and Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic.
The Classic Sports Car Club was set up in 2001 by enthusiast racers who wanted to offer racing at grass roots level. Since then, it has grown to over 800 members and runs more than ten race weekends each year. The CSCC has six series of its own – Swinging Sixties, with contemporary sports, saloon and GT cars of the period, the Tin Tops series for saloons under 2 litres, Future Classics for sports, saloons and GT cars from the 1970s, 1980s, Magnificent Sevens for Caterham-type cars, the Classic K series for race cars built between 1947 and 1965 and the Deutsche Marque series for anything German built in 1990 onwards.
Don’t forget to visit the paddock too and the opportunity to see the cars up close as they are being prepared.
